Chelsea Champlain | Owner & Tattoo Artist Chelsea is the owner and artist behind Remnant Tattoo, with more than six years of tattooing experience and an artistic career that has taken a few unexpected turns along the way. After beginning her career in tattooing, Chelsea stepped away for several years to raise her family and pursue other creative opportunities. During that time, her artwork led to a collaboration with Coach, creating original designs that appeared on clothing and accessories, at New York Fashion Week, and in publications including Vogue and Marie Claire. Eventually, she found her way back to tattooing and brought those years of artistic growth with her. Chelsea’s work ranges from bold neo-traditional color and illustrative, high-contrast black and gray to more delicate fine-line work. She is especially drawn to strong composition and creating tattoos that complement the body while remaining readable and beautiful as they age. For Chelsea, being an artist means never becoming too comfortable. She is continually studying, experimenting, and refining her craft—because every tattoo is an opportunity to make the next piece better than the last.
